Flawless UX is not a privilege, it's a necessity.

Amazon's delivery alert

  1. Subject - "Delivered: Your Amazon.com order #XXX"

  • Who remembers a 17 digit order #? It's useless to put the order # in the subject.

  • The word "Your" is unnecessary here. I am not going to get my neighbors order.

  • I already know that the email is from Amazon. Why again write "Amazon.com" order? it's an overkill.

  • It would have added value if they added what is delivered in the subject.

  • Better subject: "Delivered: Pete's coffee pods"

  1. Email content

  • Email starts with Amazon followed by some dots. Got no clue what they were thinking but seems really useless.

  • The first line of the email "Your package is delivered". What package? I ordered 10 different items from Amazon. It's just useless reading this.

  • Immediately after that "How was your delivery?" with some ugly big hyperlinks. Are we really in 2021? You could have hidden that hyperlink neatly behind a thumbs up and thumbs down icon.

  • The third item is track your package. Why would I track my package if it's already delivered? It makes zero sense.

  • Then comes order info. Order info again has nothing useful for me to know what was delivered. It just says 2 items and order #. No information on what is that item.

  • Also, order information should be on top of the email instead of the bottom.

  • "How was the delivery?" should be on the bottom of the email instead of the top.

  • Email contains no image/graphics. It looks really boring. One possible explanation is to improve the performance of the email load speed but we are in the 5G era and simple graphics shouldn't affect the performance.
